Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience leveland internal equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment ofthe applicant's salary history and qualifications in comparison to the marketrate and requirements for the job.
This role is on-site 5 days aweek
Position Summary
Performs licensed clinical activities for an assignedMecklenburg County program including criminal justice services, domesticviolence, substance abuse, homelessness, child development, children and familyviolence or trauma exposures, and jail diversions. This position, under minimalsupervision, may be responsible for performing diagnosis, assessment, andevaluation, and psychological testing; providing immediate clinical traumaresponse and intervention, providing direct counseling / therapy; performing treatmentplanning; conducting home visits; providing referrals, conducting training andpreparing progress reports.
Essential Functions
- For assignment in Child Development - Community Policing :
- Partner with law enforcement to provide acute traumaintervention for children and their families to include : crisis interventionand immediate safety needs addressed, acute trauma symptom identification,determining appropriate brief clinical interventions / strategies; determine theneeded frequency of interventions; ongoing assessment of child / family progressand needs; and / or, performing other related activities includingpsychoeducation and any needed referrals for clinical and / or non-clinicalservices.
- Respond to crime scenes, children's homes, hospitals, andother community locations to provide immediate clinical intervention andprevention services to children exposed to violence 24 / 7 / 365, to includenights, weekends, and holiday on-call acute response rotation.
- Document child trauma symptoms and corresponding clinicalinterventions, including information gathered by observation, parent orcaregiver interviews, and case history, records progress, makes clinicalrecommendations; attends case staffing as-needed and / or, performing otherrelated clinical activities.
- Collaborate with child protective service workers on allcases where child abuse, neglect, or dependency is a factor.
- Provide clinical treatment or assessments for clients (individuals, children,and / or families), which includes : determining appropriateintervention / therapies; frequency of interventions; ongoing assessment ofprogress and needs; and modifying therapeutic plans as required.
- Document clinical treatments and evaluations, whichincludes : synthesizing information gathered by observation, interviews, andrecord reviews; records reviews and writes summary-style reports; and / or,performing other related activities.
- Conduct biopsychosocial and social emotional evaluations,developmental assessments, and psychological testing on clients as appropriateto program assignment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary staffing's regardingclients before and after evaluations, which includes : gathering andsynthesizing extensive information to make decisions with the evaluation teamregarding evaluation tools and assessment methods; participating in client'slevel of overall functioning, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations;and / or, performing other related activities.
- Facilitate case consultations with other staff to addressthe client's social emotional issues and / or problems.
- Participate in revising service plans and interpretsevaluation results for clients and / or caregivers.
- Collect program evaluation data.
- Enter and access clinical data in the electronic data basesystem.
- Correspond and collaborate with interested / involvedcollaterals, community resources and service providers.
- May be required to staff shelters in the event of adisaster.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of two yearsof experience providing clinical services in the area assigned.
Education : Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling,or a related human services field.

Licenses and Certifications
Dependingon the area of assignment NC Professional Licensure is required in one of thefollowing areas : Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LicensedClinical Mental Health Clinician (LCMHC).Candidate MUST haveProvisional OR Full Licensure in the Mental Health Field.Requiresa valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's LicenseRequiresCounty Driving PrivilegesAnnualMotor Vehicle Record (MVR) check requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
