Job Description
Petroplan is recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static Equipment) on behalf of a US Based LNG company. The ideal candidate will act as the primary mechanical static equipment expert for our client across all project phases.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering team to ensure safety, suitability, and adherence to operational standards in facility designs.
- Review and assess EPC contractor submissions including data sheets, specifications, calculations, and reports.
- Ensure projects comply with safety standards, quality benchmarks, and budgetary and scheduling requirements.
- Contribute to the development of mechanical data sheets, drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Participate in technical evaluations and reviews, including hazard analyses and constructability assessments.
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Role Details :
- Lead technical discussions related to static equipment with various stakeholders such as suppliers and regulators.
- Oversee the development and implementation of equipment monitoring and preservation programs.
- Participate in commissioning activities and safety reviews.
- Provide on-site supervision to EPC contractors to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
Requirements :
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role within EPC contracting or operations.
- At least 3 years of experience specifically in LNG liquefaction projects during execution phases.
- Proficiency in the design, operation, and maintenance of static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and storage tanks.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ASME ANSI, ISO, TEMA, ALPEMA).
- Strong familiarity with hydrocarbon processing industries, including LNG, refining, and petrochemicals.
- Ability to work under project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of deliverables.
- Familiarity with project documents such as PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Competence in typical work processes of large-scale EPC projects including management of change and design evaluations.
- Capability to develop performance criteria and conduct inspections and tests on static equipment.
- Understanding of interdisciplinary contributions to project success including control systems and piping engineering.
