Position: Sociology and Criminology - Adjunct Faculty Location: Nashua, NH
Job Id: 343 # of Openings: 0 Intro to Sociology and Criminology – Adjunct Faculty (Day)
Rivier University hires part-time Sociology and Criminology- Adjunct Faculty members on a semester-to-semester basis. We are currently seeking instructors who can teach face-to-face on our Nashua, New Hampshire campus introductory and advanced courses.
Currently, we are in particular need of a criminology instructor for a class that meets Spring 2023, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00-12:15.
Responsibilities
Candidates qualified to teach undergraduate courses will have a master’s degree in sociology or a related field. Previous teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • An earned graduate degree in sociology or a related field.
  • Candidate must possess a keen interest and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students as well as the ability to work effectively with students of all levels and abilities.
  • Be able to work with a diverse student population.
  • Prior college teaching experience in the field of sociology is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both in the department and throughout the University community.
  • Support the Mission of the University.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
  • Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, and
  • Computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, and reporting platforms, as well as calendaring and email.
This position classification has been defined as exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
