T-Rock Contracting, LLC is looking for an experienced estimator in the multi-family industry who is able to produce detailed estimates for our sales team and assist in negotiations with insurance adjustors.
The estimator position requires effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to set and achieve goals with minimal supervision. Must be self-motivated and proficient in Xactimate, JobProgress (we will train), Excel, and word.
Salaries and Bonuses to be determined based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate construction deficiencies at multi-family properties and determine the best improvements for code compliance and to meet property standards
- Create comprehensive scopes of work to repair issues requested by property management
- Develop full-scope estimates based on Bid-Build, Design-Build or CM / GC construction documents
- Inspect job sites with client or sales team to prepare detailed scopes of work and estimates in Xactimate
- Facilitate communications between the adjuster, the client and the sales representative.
- Provide insurance industry expertise to the sales representative during contract negotiations.
- Provide operations team with accurate scopes of work and cost estimates
- Create detailed crew and production cost estimates and review prices with sales team
- Solicits and analyzes subcontractor and vendor pricing input when required
- Develops unit costs accurately
- Assist in providing proper information for invoicing the clients or insurance
- Knowledge of the building and construction industry, materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction or repair of all aspects of the multi-family industry.
Includes understanding construction drawings and specifications.
Must be familiar with quantity material and labor take-off means and methods.Use critical thinking and problem solving to recognize construction issues as well as identify solutions to repair the construction deficiencies.Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present and determine scope of workCritically analyze bid documents and understand risk and opportunities and articulate those to managementPerforms technical / plan review when requiredAttends project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as requiredSome travel may be requiredSkills :
