Accounting Manager

A well-established organization in Hartford is seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to lead its finance operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this role oversees core accounting functions, manages a team of five, and ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead daily accounting operations, including :
• Payroll
• Accounts payable and receivable
• General ledger entries
• Month-end and year-end close processes
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Ensure the effectiveness of financial reporting systems and tools
• Review and approve cost allocations, depreciation schedules, and accrual entries
• Oversee payroll processing and timekeeping systems, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Serve as the primary contact for payroll vendors, including wage garnishment coordination
• Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries with third-party provider data
• Stay current on payroll-related laws and regulations
• Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership
• Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff to foster a collaborative, high-performing team
• Continuously improve accounting systems and workflows for accuracy and efficiency

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $29.67 - $35.16 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
