Job Details

As a member of the infrastructure team, the Network Engineer II is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and operational support of all aspects of the LAN / WAN infrastructure consisting of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, load balancers, monitoring systems, and structured cabling.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and analyzes the availability and performance of the network, ensuring that it is maintained to the highest standards
• Recommends and implements solutions for network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless, and other network systems and services
• Responsible for the resolution of complex network problems; performs as an escalation resource for more junior engineers and other teams; escalates to more senior engineers and / or vendors as needed for prompt problem resolution
• Participates in incident management, asset management, change management, project management, and root cause analysis documentation and remediation
• Documents the technical details of the network environment and related systems and services
• Interacts and coordinates with clients and vendors to foster a satisfying customer service relationship
• Participates in on call rotation for after-hours and weekend support
• Team player; trains and mentors new team members
