Purpose of the Job:

• The EHS Intern will support various aspects of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance across the organization. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, safety management systems, and more.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in conducting thorough risk assessments in the workplace.
• Conducting Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents for specific tasks to ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Participate in investigating workplace incidents, including accidents and near-misses, to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the ongoing maintenance of the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system.
• Assist with ISO 45001 assessments at various sites.
• Contribute to the ISO 45001 Systems Management Integration.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors’ degree from a 4-year accredited university
• 3.0 GPA- highly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience conducting research
• Self-starter
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow policies and procedures

The starting hourly base rate for this role is $21.00 and goes up to $24.00 dependent on years of service within the company. The company also offer a Success Share Bonus that is dependent upon meeting metrics and targets. Please note that the range for the rate provided is a good faith estimate and is only applicable for roles that are based out of Illinois. The final rate will be determined after considering relevant factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and work location, where appropriate.
