Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Employment Specialist to join our Supported Employment Program! The Employment Specialist is responsible for providing job development, job training (both intensive and extended), advocacy and personal support & services where necessary to individuals in the Supported Employment Program. By working in conjunction with agency staff, local businesses, and other community-based vocational professionals, the Employment Specialist will help clients in achieving their individual vocational goals. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has exceptional communication skills, and has a strong desire to help people with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
Developing clients' independent work skillsIntervening to address performance and attendance issuesCommunicating routinely with those involved in clients' case on clients' attendance, progress and challengesMaintain and submit complete case notes and reports on clients' activities, in accordance with program procedures and employment contract requirementsDevelop partnership relationships with local businesses on an ongoing basisOrganization, flexibility, and sensitivity to confidential client information are essentialQualifications
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skillsFamiliarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suiteHigh School Diploma and 1-3 years of experience in service delivery to individuals with disabilitiesExperienced Job Coach strongly preferred
