Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems wants you to join our team as a Principal Industrial Engineer to support a maintenance program with Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, LA.

The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform. The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries.

Primary Duties :

Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.

Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.

Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

Develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.

Your specific duties include, but may not be limited to :

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules; integrating multiple program schedule requests into one executable schedule for production teams.

Resolves conflicts between competing programs for common resources.

Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.

Creates, maintains and statuses network-based Master Production Schedules in support of E-6B programs.

Utilizes understanding of critical path schedule network processing.

Works with IMP / IMS schedule structure and schedules based on Work Breakdown Structures.

Exports schedule data to Excel and collaborates with responsible parties to gather and report schedule status and productivity metrics.

Identifies and analyzes critical and driving paths.

Resource loads schedules, including both labor and material.

Aligns program schedules with the manufacturing / production system.

Integrates external customer or subcontractor program activity into the master production schedule.

Prepares and delivers CDRLs in accordance with program specific requirements.

Basic Qualifications :

A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of IE related experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study and a minimum of 6 years of experience in IE related roles; or an Associate's degree and a minimum of 8 years of IE related experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and prioritize.

Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications :

A Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience utilizing all aspects of Microsoft Project to manage IMS.

Able to obtain / maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

Salary Range : $86,600 - $130,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers.
