The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Family Support Counselor . As we expand our counseling services, we are looking for a dynamic therapist, passionate about working with a range of clients served through all of our programs, and with specific experience or knowledge providing counseling and support to families who have children diagnosed with medical or developmental needs.

The Licensed Family Support Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings.

Our team is passionate about supporting families as they adjust to a new normal following the diagnosis of a child, or change in their family building plans, and we welcome your knowledge and expertise in this area!

Requirements :

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required.
  • Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC or LCSW) required.
  • Minimum of one year experience post licensure in clinical work with families and children required.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required.
  • Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required.
  • Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.
  • Experience working with families who have experienced infertility, adopted, or are dealing with a child with a medical or developmental need preferred.
