Position Summary
The Product Manager is responsible for educating the distribution chain on all features and benefits of assigned product line(s). This position is also responsible for managing inventory maintenance, developing and maintaining relationships with sizeable sales accounts, as well as creating demand with downstream participants (general contractors, dealers, distributors, and key influencers) in the market area.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Coordinate sources of supply to obtain the most economical purchases possible. Responsible for finalizing and issuing purchase orders to assigned vendors for designated product lines on a daily basis. Review supplier confirmations for accuracy, related to order details, specifications, branch information, pricing, quantities, and expected delivery dates. Complete oversight for samples and displays for assigned product lines; working with the branch sales team to understand and determine the needs of each market within the sales region. Evaluate the dependability and resourcefulness of suppliers and competitive quotations, placing orders to OrePac's best advantage. Maintain responsible and accurate records with regard to purchasing, pricing, and deliveries. Develop and maintain catalog price pages on assigned product lines. Collaborate with the Corporate Pricing Manager as needed or upon request. Verify quantity and quality of stock received from suppliers, authorize payment of invoices or return of merchandise, and inspect exchanged or refunded merchandise. Locate new sources of supply while keeping abreast of changing trends in prices and availability of materials. Provide product information to staff and recommend necessary action(s) to ensure a continued flow of materials to meet inventory and sales requirements. Recommend policies and procedures for purchasing functions in adherence to company-defined best practices. Communicate regional marketing opportunities with the Sales Manager (trade shows, publications, seminars). Advise the Sales Manager of margin / profit opportunity, and meet standards for quality, fill rates, inventory turns, and gross margin as established by the Sales Manager. Attend assigned supply chain-related conference calls held throughout the month and provide a detailed summary to the branch leadership and sales teams. Partner with the Sales Manager and sales staff to develop a forecast and projections to be provided regularly to the Corporate Supply Chain team. Maintain knowledge of the local market. Share market-specific information regarding competitive landscape and opportunities regarding assigned product line(s) with the Sales Manager. Play an active role in developing, updating, and facilitating training for the Authorized Dealer network. Responsible for the reviewing and auditing of receiving paperwork and working with the Corporate Supply Chain team to resolve receipt discrepancies and correct them in the system. Communicate with the mainline sales team about upcoming jobs and possible customer needs.
Required Skills, Experience, And Education
5-7 years' experience in a supply chain or related position working with product line oversight and inventory planning and control in a distribution environment. Bachelor's degree in any field (preferred but not required). Ability to travel throughout the local market area two to three days per week. Strong ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet multiple deadlines. Strong business acumen in regard to sales and knowledgeable about current and possible future industry trends. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats. Ability to analyze a problem and provide potential solutions to resolve problems. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions. Ability to perform as a team player and interact with all levels of management and support personnel. Proven proficiency in the use of a personal computer accompanied by a strong aptitude for technical applications. Excellent communication skills and comfortability speaking in front of groups of people consisting of employees, customers, and / or members of leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, One Note, Word, and Excel). Results-oriented and customer-focused, with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Experience using lead tracking services and customer relationship management software such as SalesForce.com (preferred).
