The mission of the Platform Product Group engineers is to build a trusted, scalable and compliant platform to operate with speed, efficiency and quality. Our teams build and maintain the platforms critical to the existence of Coinbase. There are many teams that make up this group which include Product Foundations (i.e. Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub, Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure). We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments team at Coinbase. Our team is diligently crafting innovative payment solutions aimed at empowering both individual consumers and large-scale institutions within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. We are developing state-of-the-art payment infrastructures, user experiences, workflows and APIs, to facilitate the seamless transition of traditional currency into the crypto landscape, thereby enhancing financial access. Our payment solutions are designed with a focus on simplicity and scalability, aiming to drive widespread adoption of crypto-centric products. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and scale systems that power the foundational payments services required to securely and reliably onboard our global customers into the crypto economy.

What you'll be doing :

• Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend payments systems and infrastructure that power multiple products across Coinbase.
• Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for key projects, driving them from design to production with high accountability.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible roadmap.
• Mentor and train other team members and contribute to building a strong, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex fullstack issues, ensuring performance, stability, reliability, and security.
