Location : Asheville, NC 28801 – North Carolina healthcare jobs

Facility Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Main Campus

Start Date : November 30, 2025

End Date : March 1, 2026

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Shift : 12-hour nights (6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Dress Code : Navy blue scrubs

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse – North Carolina or compact state)

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in PCU, step-down, or similar acute care setting

Experience caring for tracheostomy patients required

Demonstrated flexibility and strong clinical skills

Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in a 23-bed step-down and 16-bed med-surg unit

Manage patient ratios of 1 : 3-4 (step-down) and 1 : 4-6 (med-surg)

Perform and assist with advanced procedures including trach care, chest tube management, wound dressing changes, and cardiac drips

Care for stable ventilated patients and those with tracheostomies

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, RNs, and patient care technicians

Float to other med-surg and progressive care units as needed

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR

Work 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within each 6-week period
