Responsibilities
The Corporate Vice President of Communications and Public Relations will be a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for developing and executing the organization’s communications and public relations strategies. This role involves extensive writing, editing, planning, and stakeholder engagement, serving as a primary spokesperson for Prime Healthcare. The leader will oversee corporate communications, media relations, investor communications, government relations support, and community engagement initiatives. They will manage a team responsible for internal communications, executive messaging, PR, media relations, crisis management, website development, digital marketing, and social media strategy. Collaboration with hospital leadership is essential to align communications with the organization’s strategic goals. Hospital communications teams report indirectly to this role. Qualifications
Required qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. 10+ years of successful communications experience in healthcare delivery, including at the C-suite level. Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, board members, physicians, officials, and community stakeholders. Exceptional writing skills tailored for diverse audiences. Relationship-building experience with local and national media outlets, including Becker’s Healthcare and Modern Healthcare. Track record of leading corporate and regional communications, crisis management, media relations, and labor communications. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams under tight deadlines. Strong organizational, leadership, and diplomatic skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships across the health system. Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities. Preferred qualifications : Experience in large, complex, national health systems. Experience in investor relations. Knowledge of government relations and working with elected officials. Connections with national news media in key markets like LA, NYC, and the Midwest. Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or Journalism. Compensation and Benefits
Prime Healthcare offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefits. Compensation ranges from $214,240 to $300,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and other factors. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance.
