Location : Sunnyside Intermediate School / Tecumseh Junior High School

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 29 hours per week (when school is in session)

Starting Rate : $24.83 / hour

Start Date : As soon as possible for the 2025-2026 school year

Position Overview

The Lafayette School Corporation is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support the health and wellness of students during the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time role following the school calendar with no evening, weekend, or holiday hours .

Qualifications

Current RN license in the State of Indiana (required)
Current CPR certification (required)
Experience in school or pediatric nursing preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families

Key Responsibilities

Deliver care and first aid to students and staff per LSC policy

Provide health assessments, administer treatments, and document student visits

Administer medications and perform physician-ordered procedures (e.g., asthma treatments, diabetic monitoring, catheterizations)

Maintain and update student health records and immunization compliance

Develop and manage Individualized Health Care Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic or severe health conditions

Communicate health concerns to building administrators and nursing supervisors

Participate in in-service trainings, nurse meetings, and case conferences

Conduct vision screenings and provide health-related in-service training for staff

Follow up on injury and incident reports, including Workers' Compensation documentation

Assist with referrals to outside healthcare providers when necessary

Other duties as assigned by the RN Supervisor or building principal
