Unlock the Power of Communication in the Heartland - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us

Overview

What if your next job could be a voice for those who are often unheard? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic community of Indianapolis, you will embark on a journey that transcends mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise will not only restore functionality but also inspire confidence and connection among individuals of all ages-from children taking their first steps in language to seniors reinvigorating their ability to express themselves.

This role presents a distinctive chance to work with a diverse clientele in a setting that harmonizes outpatient therapies with occasional inpatient assistance. Whether your heart beats for pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic disorders, or the intricate realm of geriatric language rehabilitation, you'll discover a rewarding and adaptable environment here.

Description
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients of varied age groups using established testing measures and observation methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate communication goals as well as long-term cognitive, linguistic, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions emphasizing aspects like communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing habits.
  • Engage in a multidisciplinary approach by collaborating with physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure seamless care continuity.
  • Educate patients and their families, fostering an understanding that extends beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions on occasion, ensuring an integrated treatment experience.
  • Keep precise and prompt records in compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the field, making use of continuing education and peer interactions.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been attained.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-driven therapy techniques applicable across all age groups, with a well-rounded knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong communication abilities essential for engaging with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • A capacity to tailor therapy techniques for varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Robust clinical judgment and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Attractive compensation package reflective of experience.
  • Flexible working hours that support an excellent work-life balance and a varied caseload.
  • Possibilities for specialization in pediatric, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday remuneration.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative ambiance focused on quality care and ongoing learning.
