A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be a driving force in developing and providing innovative and efficient methods to refurbish Siemens’ fleet of brushless exciters as well as provide new equipment for the emerging needs within North America. At times, you will be on the shop floor ensuring the operators have all the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties and when needed, take a hands-on approach to meet production demands.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical instructions, GMSs, etc.
- Develop and implement product-specific manufacturing processes utilizing sound engineering judgment and methodologies
- Provide technical guidance and training to new and experienced engineers, operators, technicians
- Communicate with order engineering to understand requirements, optimize product design for manufacture, and communicate process deviations (non-conformances)
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and meeting Siemens Energy expectations.
- Promote and participate in continuous improvement / lean activities that meet operational excellence expectations.
- Understand how to extract information contained in SAP (Quality notifications, drawing retrieval, line-up printing, material status, etc.)
What You Bring
BS in Engineering disciplineExperience in providing technical oversight in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting the power generation industryPrior exposure to brushless excitation manufacturing and nomenclature is a plusExperience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.Working experience with computers – including SAP and Microsoft Office software.
