GeoLogic is seeking a Field Geologist to assist our busy engineering and geological consulting firm located in Marietta, Georgia (bordering Woodstock). The incumbent will be responsible for conducting fieldwork throughout the southeastern U.S., typically in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following : supervising and directing the drilling of borings, collecting geological data through field mapping methods, logging rock core and identifying rock type, measuring Percent Recovery and rock quality designation (RQD), measuring groundwater levels in borings, and surveying boring locations in the field. Responsibilities will also include preparation of boring logs, cross-sections, figures, photo logs, and geological reports.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is teachable and willing to learn, willing to drive long distances between job sites, and willing to spend long hours in the field supporting the timely completion of drilling campaigns. A bachelor’s degree is required.

This position is available as either a Full Time Permanent position, or a Temporary position not to exceed 180 days. The position is approximately 95% travel and field work, and is available immediately.
