Description :

This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.

The role involves working in a 7-bed emergency room with 1 trauma room.

There is a variable patient load, averaging around 4,000 patients per year.

The nurse will be the only one staffed in the ER, with a possible 1 : 7 ratio.

A charge nurse from the medical-surgical unit may assist as needed.

There is an Emergency Medical Record (EMR) system in use.

Nurses perform lab draws if the lab is unavailable.

There is no IV team; the provider places PICC lines during the day.

Registered nurses conduct all treatments.

Pharmacy support is available until the afternoon, with additional telepharmacy on call.

In this facility, any color scrubs are acceptable as long as they are professional.

The nurse will be expected to rotate weekends and holidays with permanent staff.

A preceptor shift is included for training.

Common diagnoses encountered may vary widely.
