Licensed Practical Nurse - Newark, OH

Compensation : starting at $27.00 / hour

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse at National Youth Advocate Program provides medical assistance to the persons served including performing physical assessments and treating acute, minor illnesses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical assessments on each client upon arrival and intake.
• Identify abnormal findings and notify the client's physician or consulting physicians.
• Assure the need for medical treatment for illnesses and / or injuries are being met.
• Assure the administration and implementation of physician orders, and when appropriate, educate the appropriate staff on administering medication and / or treatments as needed.
• Assure all documentation and required record keeping is completed in a timely manner.
• Assess minor illnesses and administer non-prescription medications per approved Standing Orders Policy.
• Schedule and coordinate examinations by the consulting physician for each persons served.
• Assure the program's compliance with Medical Policies and Procedures as well as Standing Orders.
