Our client, a well-established food manufacturing company near Zion, IL, is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead key financial functions including month-end and year-end close, cost and inventory accounting, and team leadership. This is a high-impact role ideal for candidates with a strong manufacturing background and a passion for operational excellence.

Job Description

Take full ownership of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Lead cost accounting efforts including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.

Collaborate closely with operations to analyze production costs and drive efficiency improvements.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial reporting systems.

Support external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

Contribute to strategic financial planning and cross-functional initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.

Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams.

Deep expertise in cost accounting and inventory management within a manufacturing setting.

Strong ERP and Excel skills.

Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities
