Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE :

The Intern, Interpreting functions as an entry-level professional interpreter for students, faculty, staff and administration that are Deaf / Hard of Hearing in order to maintain institutional compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Interpreting Interns strive to advance in sign language skill proficiency in order to provide high quality interpreting services. Interpreting Interns support and promote all persons’ right to communication equity in learning and workplace environments.
