About The Position

Job Title : Cardiovascular Technologist

Profession : Cardiovascular Tech

Hours per Shift : 40 hours per week

Experience : Two years experience conducting echocardiograms.

License : Registered cardiac ultrasound technologist or ARDMS registry eligible.

Certifications : Graduate from an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound program.

Must-Have :

• Proficiency in conducting color flow Doppler echos following established protocols.
• Ability to conduct stress echos according to established protocols.
• Experience assisting in TEE procedures.
• Skills in submitting echocardiograms with high quality within appropriate time frames.
• Capability to identify and conduct echos with delegation.
• Proficiency in conducting other non-invasive testing without delegation, such as EKG and Holter monitoring.
• Familiarity with the use of medical equipment including EKG and EEG machines.
• Competence in using office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and computers.
• Ability to recognize and report equipment malfunctions.
• Commitment to maintaining safety standards and following infection control guidelines.
• Strong clerical skills including making appointments and entering charges accurately.
• Participation in performance improvement programs.
• Effective communication skills with all members of the healthcare team.
• Ability to interact with patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatric populations.

Description :

Conducts color flow Doppler and stress echos following established protocols.

Assists Cardiologist in TEE procedures.

Submits echocardiograms ensuring the highest quality possible within the appropriate time span.

Identifies and conducts echos with delegation.

Identifies and conducts other non-invasive testing without delegation.

Recognizes and reports any equipment malfunctions.

Maintains safety standards and follows infection control guidelines at all times.

Performs neat, accurate, and thorough clerical tasks, including making appointments and entering daily charges.

Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Demonstrates effective communication with all hospital team members.

Recognizes abnormal echo findings and communicates life-threatening situations to appropriate personnel.

Interacts with patients across a broad age range, from neonates to the geriatric population.
