You will report to the Director of Project Management. She is a good leader with high character and extensive experience in our industry. She aims to help her team solve problems and looks at the data to support solutions. She is calming and encouraging and does not lead with emotion but with sound wisdom.

Experience :

  • We are needing someone with a high level of experience with doors and trim.
  • 5-10 years in a professional job with solid references (we need to know your professional and responsible).

Work remote : We will only consider candidates with extensive experience in doors and trim for a remote hire. If you do not have this experience and live remotely, do not apply.

Abel Lumber & Door is currently accepting applications to fill an opening for a Project Manager. We are a thriving company that has gone from $0 - 8 million in 3 years. We are looking for highly motivated and very skilled people to fulfill the roles at our company. We hire on integrity and work ethic first. We can train the right people. HOWEVER, I will lean heavily towards someone with work experience in doors and trim. I am not opposed to someone working remotely after training has been completed. Our offices are located in Gainesville, TX, and we serve all of DFW market.

Job Description :

This job will be managing the orders we receive for doors and trim on new residential homes. This job will require 80% office, 20% field ratio. We pride ourselves on communication, so in-person meetings and phone calls need to be something you're good at. This job is a lot of phone / email work. But we try very hard to stay personal with our clients. With that being said, tone is huge at our company. Tone conveys mood, and we always try to take a very professional and peaceful tone with each other and with our clients. It is imperative that you have a positive mindset with the desire to create and find solutions for our clients. We want professionals at this company, and we reward and acknowledge professional behaviour.

Job Details :

  • Communication with customers, internal staff & vendors to fulfill orders.
  • Communication with manufacturing team for timely production.
  • Planning skills for the support you receive from door walkers and delivery team.
  • Communicate with accounting to verify all work was invoiced.
  • Follow up with customers for payment approvals.
  • Modify work schedules in the calendar as project deadlines are adjusted.
  • Develop bids for customer.
  • Identify and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Review the Bill of Materials from customers and ensure that the orders match prior to delivery.
  • Manage relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Self-starter.
  • Prioritize workloads daily.
  • Meet builders in the field and get to know their sites / projects.
  • Visit Purchasing Managers at their office to develop strong relationships.
