BLS and ACLS Certification through American Heart Association (Must be current)

Job Description
Join the premier level 1 Trauma Center at UW Health University Hospital as an RN - ICU in a fast-paced, Magnet-recognized facility ranked Wisconsin’s #1 hospital. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work across multiple intensive care units, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, providing critical care for adult patients. You will work diverse shifts during the evenings and nights, with every other weekend and some holidays, supporting a collaborative team in an academic environment committed to excellence.
In this role, flexibility is key—traveler nurses will be the first to float across units based on staffing needs, gaining invaluable experience in a variety of critical care settings. You will have the autonomy to grow your expertise in a renowned teaching hospital that values shared governance, continuous learning, and professional development.
What You Bring
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in a similar level 1 Trauma Center environment
Demonstrated experience working with adult ICU populations across multiple units such as Neuro, Cardiothoracic, Burn, or Trauma ICU
Experience working in an Academic hospital setting is strongly preferred
Proficiency in EPIC EHR (ideally within the last 12 months)
Experience with telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation
Ability to adapt quickly to various care environments and manage a flexible floating schedule
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and teamwork orientation
Preferred Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred
Prior travel nurse experience in a Level I Trauma center is highly desirable
Certification in specialty areas (e.g., Trauma Nursing, Critical Care) a plus
Proven ability to pass Telemetry testing and perform competently in high-pressure situations
