Overview

The Senior Full Stack PHP Developer plays a vital role in maintaining, modernizing, and advancing mission-critical systems across both legacy and contemporary PHP frameworks. This hands-on technical leadership position involves working in legacy PHP (5.6) environments while driving the strategic transition to PHP 8+ and modern frameworks such as Laravel.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned developer who combines technical depth with strong leadership and architectural insight. This role includes designing scalable solutions, mentoring team members, contributing to architectural decisions, and collaborating across departments to deliver robust, high-performance software aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership : Lead and participate in the design, development, and deployment of software enhancements and new modules.

Modernization : Work within legacy PHP (5.6) systems while guiding the upgrade to PHP 8+ and modern frameworks like Laravel.

Agile Collaboration : Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

Cross-Functional Partnership : Work closely with product management, design, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions.

Performance Optimization : Refactor and optimize existing codebases, database schemas, and queries for performance, maintainability, and scalability.

Product Support : Enhance and maintain core products such as CRM systems, web / mobile platforms, and API integrations to support evolving business requirements.

API Development : Build and integrate REST, SOAP, and XML-based APIs to expand platform functionality.

Problem Solving : Diagnose and resolve complex software issues to ensure system stability and uptime.

Mentorship & Standards : Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding best practices across the team.

Security & Compliance : Uphold data security standards and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and privacy of all information assets.

Qualifications

Experience : 6+ years of professional PHP / MySQL development experience.

Strong background in both legacy PHP (5.6) and modern frameworks (Laravel or equivalent).

Proven experience leading modernization and migration projects.

Advanced knowledge of OOP principles and software architecture patterns.

Proficiency in JavaScript (including jQuery), HTML, and CSS.

Strong API development and integration experience (REST, SOAP, XML).

Skilled with Git version control systems.

Methodologies : Hands-on experience working within Agile / Scrum environments.

Collaboration : Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with NGINX, MariaDB + Galera Cluster, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Redis, Couchbase, or Zookeeper.

Experience with CI / CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Understanding of caching strategies and message queue systems.
