Description

NOTE: *This is NOT a TUTOR or SITE LEAD application*

Implement quality programs that align with program goals and meet the needs of both the foundation and school partners

Provide ongoing support, implementation and strategic guidance to programs in accordance with company guidelines and policies. Develop and direct plans of action designed to enhance overall programing. Work cooperatively with the Senior Site Liaison and District Partners for the implementation, support, and communication of after school action plans. In cooperation with the Senior Site Liaison, draft, oversee and direct the organization's efforts toward the implementation of the annual plan of action. Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment over matters relating to program strategic development and planning, including participating in the formulation of applicable company policies relating to programing strategic development.

Mentor and support Site Liaisons Site Leads and Tutors

Manage program staff by developing and maintaining positive relationships, addressing concerns related to staff turnover and work to improve tutor retention rates in support with Site Liaisons. Provide coaching to staff based on the needs identified by Liaisons. Assist the L&D department in conducting new hire training by region. Support the Programming team in interviewing and placing staff. Develop and deliver training programs to staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.

Human Resources and Professional Development Training

Under the direction of the Senior Site Liaison, and in partnership with the Site Liaison, oversee the activities of afterschool programs. Inspire staff to be invested and committed to the organization's mission and goals. Develop professional development plans for the staff to ensure the program maintains a high level of quality. Coordinate employee training and professional development to ensure personnel, including managers, are up-to-date with current educational trends and best practices.

Interviewing, Hiring and Placement

As directed, assist the human resources department with company recruitment efforts. Regularly review Paycom for job applicants assigned to your region. Schedule initial interviews of job applicants for placement consideration at assigned after school program sites. Make hiring decisions from qualified job candidates and facilitate the placement of new hires. In cooperation with the company human resources department, prepare new hires for their initial job placement. Assign temporary placement of substitute personnel at job sites where employee absences were reported. Reclassify existing after school program site personnel as required, such as changes in employment status, demotion, promotion, and job reassignment.

Perform Other Duties as Assigned

Perform additional duties as directed by the Senior Site Liaison; offer feedback and suggestions on proposed actions and decisions that could enhance afterschool program efficiency and operations; participate in professional training and development activities, as needed or requested; and regularly attend company staff and management meetings.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience/License Required:

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred or 3-5 years of direct related work experience, including work associated in the public educational field is preferred; experience working with children in the field of youth development and community service is highly preferred; prior afterschool program management experience; must have prior management and supervisory experience, including skills in the area of general human resource management, working with and supervising personnel, maintaining and working with a budget, and meeting set goals, objectives, and deadlines; and must have prior organizational strategic development experience, including the development of strategic plans, goals, objectives. Must possess a California Class C driver's license in good standing; possess a genuine desire to see youth aspire in their educational accomplishments and goals; be able to communicate in and understand the English language with knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; must be able to demonstrate exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; be able to lead and motivate groups and individuals; and be able to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally; possess strong project management skills and be able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines; possess excellent skills in word processing, working with databases, and using Microsoft Office products and be efficient with Google suite. Must possess high business ethical and moral standards, attributes of honesty and trustworthiness, respect and sensitivity of others, cultural awareness, flexibility, and sound work ethic. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment; multi-task various assignments given; and be able present to large groups of people.
