Job Description
This position typically reports to a Program Director, Assistant Program Director, or other appropriate project administrator within the unit. A Community Outreach Caseworker may be assigned duties with a different focus than another Caseworker, but the duties are interrelated and contribute to the purpose / goals of the program. One caseworker may concentrate on educating pregnant or postpartum women on infant mortality and morbidity, while another caseworker my focus on addressing the psychosocial problems of perinatal depression in women. This position will go into the community - into client homes, to community gathering places, churches, and other local spots to locate and interview the clients or potential clients who most need their services. Although each position is responsible for its assigned cases, the Community Outreach Caseworker also serves as a team member to develop multidisciplinary solutions to client problems. This position is non-exempt. While this position works with substantial independence in the field, it is limited to routine decision-making with regard to client services, operating within established policy guidance. Unusual situations are discussed with supervisor prior to taking action. This position is time-limited. This position requires a level II background check.

Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with three years experience in office, administrative, or customer services positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational / technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
