This position will work with in conjunction with and under the lead work direction of the Principal Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse, through implementing and maintaining the Infection Prevention / Control Program for applicable regulatory requirements and participating in agency committee, projects, education and trainings.\n\nThe Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis provides skilled nursing care in a supportive environment that fosters a stable, healthy, and meaningful life for Veterans. We offer a creative, fun, collaborative, and stimulating work environment that encourages professional growth.\n\nThe Minneapolis Home is located on Minnehaha Avenue, which has connecting highways and public transportation options for an easy commute. The beautiful 53-acre wooded campus includes mature oaks and pines, nature trails and biking paths overlooking the Mississippi River.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n
  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.\n
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse with Infection Prevention and Quality Improvement.\n
  • Knowledge of state and federal standards in skilled nursing facility / long term care, certification, and infection prevention.\n
  • Communications skill sufficient to develop and deliver training / education and explain complex terms and concepts to a diverse audience.\n
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (online certifications / online classes not permitted)\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n
  • Experience with Quality Assurance Performance Improvement strategies.\n
  • Certification in Infection Prevention, QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement), Gerontology, or other related field such as Wound Certification, Nurse Executive Certification.\n
  • Experience in Clinical care needs of the elderly, those at the end of life, and Veterans.\n
  • Experience delivering health care education.\n
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Nursing.\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nThis position requires successful completion of the following : \n
