The Underwriting Supervisor will lead a team of Underwriter I professionals in assessing merchant applications for payment processing services.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our underwriting process, mitigating risk, and fostering customer satisfaction.

With a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional service delivery, you will contribute to the continued success and growth of our organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Underwriter I professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Review and approve complex merchant applications, ensuring compliance with credit / risk scales, bank underwriting requirements, and company policies.

Analyze credit reports, financial statements, and other relevant documents to assess risk accurately.

  • Conduct thorough audits of underwriting files to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Identify trends, potential risks, and areas for process improvement, implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Track key performance metrics, such as application processing times, approval rates, and customer satisfaction levels.

Generate reports and provide insights to senior management to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must have 3+ years of merchant underwriting experience, preferably in a senior role.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new proprietary software (CRM) as well as third party vendor systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve critical business issues using innovative solutions
  • Proven ability in providing excellent and personalized customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent research skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as, discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume
  • Experience overseeing a remote team is a plus

SALARY :

This role includes quarterly profit-sharing bonuses as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, retirement planning, and / or other benefits.

  • Base salary range : $60,000 - $70,000
  • Salary including quarterly profit-sharing bonus and comprehensive benefits program range (annualized) : $80,725 - $91,725
