JOB SUMMARY

This role requires maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting control circuits and equipment associated with power generation (nuclear power).

Maintenance includes routine calibration of level, pressures, temperatures, and flow systems. Installation of instrumentation ranges from end-of-life replacements to design changes.

Conceptual skills are required for troubleshooting.

EDUCATION

  • High School / GED or equivalent (Required)
  • Associates degree in related Instrumentation and Control field (science, mathematics, or instrumentation technology). (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 Years + maintenance related experience in the instrumentation and control field, one of which should be nuclear. (Preferred)
  • Completion of an INPO accredited Instrumentation and Controls training program (Preferred)

LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • General Employee Training 1, 2, 3 and 4 (including respirator) (Required)
  • Instrumentation and Control Maintenance Certification (Required)
  • Texas Driver’s license (Required)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL TECHNICAL DUTIES :

Uses tools, training, and experience to maintain plane instrumentation and control equipment within plant and industry guidelines.

  • Reads and interprets electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Calibrates and tests plant equipment, conducts pre-operational test, troubleshoots, and reworks system, analyzes and interprets test results and data.
  • Reviews work package procedures, drawings and vendor manuals for accuracy and completeness.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Receives and comprehends general and specialized training; is accountable for maintaining all earned certifications; provides training and evaluates job performance to certify others.
  • Provides training and evaluates job performance to certify others.
  • Performs other assigned tasks as specified by management and supervision.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Ability to obtain / maintain task certifications and advanced certifications for IC maintenance.
  • Ability to read and follow procedures and instructions, to interpret electrical drawings and schematics, and to discern assorted colors.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools and to carry 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics to perform daily work activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
  • Working environment consists of both outside and inside work, in both extreme hot and cold temperatures, in confined spaces, radiological areas, and occasionally at heights.
  • Ability to perform field work in all areas of the plant, including ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds (stoop, crawl, and safely negotiate around equipment).
