Laboratory Assistant I - Pathology Phlebotomy

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research. May explain the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of one of the following :
  • Completion of a Phlebotomy training program Completion of medical assistant program Completion of an internship / training program that included venipuncture, skin puncture, patient preparation and post collection transportation / processing Currently / actively enrolled in an RN or LPN program Six (6) months of Phlebotomy experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S) :

One (1) year of patient care experience working in the healthcare field
