Summary of Responsibilities

As Tax Director, your principal duty is to oversee and manage all aspects of tax-related functions within the company, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of all tax matters.

The Tax Director will be adept at managing, directing, mentoring, and training staff in tax-related matters, fostering teamwork, and cultivating robust client relationships.

The Tax Director must also display confidence in interacting with high-net-worth clients and have a polished and professional demeanor.

Essential Functions

  • Review complex individual, partnership, trust, S-corporation, foundation and gift tax returns and income tax projections.
  • Oversee the entire tax return process for a client service team responsible for 15+ client relationships.
  • Work with client service team to communicate with clients about tax returns and planning issues.
  • Conduct tax research.
  • Proactively identify and assess techniques to minimize clients’ tax liabilities.
  • Prepare and review correspondence to IRS, state, and local tax authorities.
  • Supervise professional development and performance of Associates.
  • Conduct training on tax issues, preparation of returns, and firm procedures.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Masters in Tax preferred but not required.
  • Certified Public Accountant license required.
  • 5+ years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, S-corporations, and foundations in public accounting or family office setting.
  • 1-2 years management experience preferred but not required.
  • The ability to teach / train others in your field.
  • Full Time Mon-Fri. After 90 days and successful on-boarding you will be considered for a work from home hybrid role. 2 days a week from home, 3 days in the office.
  • Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons (Mar-Apr and Sep-Oct).

Compensation

  • $100K-$150K ($100k-$120k base pay)
