We are experiencing significant growth due to our outstanding reputation for innovation, work quality, ability to meet deadlines, and being easy to work with and have the immediate opening for a Travel Demand / Operations Modeler to join our group of modelers within our Transportation Practice.

WRA is currently working on some of the most exciting operational, travel demand, and crossover modeling projects in the country including projects in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Kansas, and Grand Cayman. Our work includes :

  • Hybrid macro / meso / micro models
  • Bike / Ped modeling
  • Statewide models
  • Statewide open ends
  • Modeling to support multi-modal corridor and area-wide plans
  • Freight modeling
  • Project prioritization
  • Mesoscopic models
  • Large scale simulation models (20-100 miles of congested freeways)
  • Modeling to support active transportation management systems

Currently, WRA has offices in Jacksonville and Tampa however, this position can be located anywhere in Florida.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, planning, engineering, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the transportation industry
  • An understanding of travel demand model or operational model theory and experience in model development or application
  • Practical experience in modeling software for demand modeling or operational modeling software is required.
  • Experience working with macroscopic models in Cube, TransCAD or VISUM and Operational modeling experience in VISSIM or TransModeler
  • Familiarity with FSUTMS
  • Past experience working with models in Florida
  • Working knowledge of GIS, statistical and quantitative analysis, and programming is desired
  • The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills as a critical role will be conveying plans and analysis results to the client and the public
  • Able to travel to project sites, company offices and client meetings
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Willingness to continue to learn and grow technically and professionally within the company
  • Open to utilizing and developing new technologies and approaches for performing work
