Total Management Systems is looking for a General Manager to lead the team at Fairfield Inn & Suites Airport! The qualified applicant will come with experience in developing strong work teams and preparing employees for leadership roles.

JOB DUTIES :

An ambassador of service delivery. Takes an active role in guest service delivery, speaking with guests, being present during peak times and working side-by-side with team members to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.

Makes sure online and brand guest service comments are being addressed timely.

  • Stays current on all franchise matters, including brand standards, initiatives, programs, policies, and training. Responsible for interacting with franchise sales and marketing staff and any other franchise service personnel contacting the hotel.
  • Responsible for all financial aspects of the hotel including labor costs, supply expenditures, creating and adhering to budget requirements.

Processes invoices timely on a consistent basis.

  • Takes pro-active steps to manage hotel operations using forecasting and monitoring upcoming BEOs.
  • Leads by example, provides direction, coaching and support to all employees. Ensures associates are provided clear expectations, career development, regular feedback, accurate pay and timely performance reviews.

Meets with department heads / supervisors daily and makes sure departments have communication systems in place.

Oversees Sales and Marketing efforts, actively participates in sales efforts, community events, CVB meetings, revenue calls.

Ensures front desk is trained and actively upselling and sharing leads / intelligence with the Sales team.

  • Actively walks the property with a critical eye, inspects guest rooms, public areas, and all back of the house work areas to properly maintain the hotel and make improvements where necessary.
  • Accurate ordering skills to make sure all guest room supplies, pool supplies, breakfast supplies, market inventory, vending machines, and chemicals are ordered timely, be sure we do not store excess inventory.
  • Takes responsibility for the safety of guests and associates, follows OSHA standards ensures proper documentation of all incident / accident reporting, conducts safety and incident report training.

Ensures pool chemicals are balanced & documented, follows SERV safe requirements, responsible for active alcohol certification for beverage servers.

  • Maintains good communication and responsiveness to the ownership and corporate office. Fosters a working relationship with ongoing communication to meet organizational objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Frequent Standing and walking.
  • Occasional sitting, talking on the phone, utilizing a computer / typing.
  • Occasional bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and to carry from 20-50lbs.

QUALICATIONS :

  • Prior experience as a Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager
  • Previous Brand experience desired; Marriott brand experience a plus
