Description :

Evaluates and assists physicians in the care of patients with ILD. Work includes seeing patients for urgent clinic visits and conducting diagnostic work up of patient when appropriate.

Works in collaboration with physicians to assess physical needs of the patient and implement a plan of care of assigned patient to be co-managed.

Develops and maintains own practice and provides follow up care of existing patients

Evaluates, interprets and records results of tests (laboratory, Radiology, etc) and reports results to physicians.

Responds to phone calls from patients, pharmacies, etc. to meet patient’s needs

Communicates examination results to patients by telephone and / or in writing

Coordinates and supervises the overall patient flow to ensure a smooth patient turnover

Provides patient education

Assists in developing education materials for patients

Manages patient care activities in the absence of the primary physician

Develops and participates in research coordination and develops ongoing research projects

Submits timely and complete billing on patients seen

Provides diagnosis and treatment plan for payers as requested

Perform preoperative pulmonary assessments

Qualifications :

Applicable LA license

Two years of clinical experience in the outpatient setting preferred

Registered nurse with LA licensure and certification to practice in an expanded role

Ability to gather and interpret data for the diagnosis and management of pulmonary conditions-with a focus on asthma

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently, with physician and administrative input as necessary
