A day in this role
As our Quality Technician, you are the steady hand on the manufacturing floor. Your morning starts with hourly audits and first-piece inspections to validate new runs. You read complex 2D drawings and apply GD&T per ANSI / ASME practices to verify that critical, major, and minor characteristics are in control. You confirm that gauges and instruments are within calibration—escalating to the Lead Quality Technician when service is due—and you document every finding so nonconformances are communicated without delay.
Throughout the day, you coach operators on inspection basics, partner with manufacturing to resolve quality issues at the source, and support customer-driven corrective and preventive actions alongside senior management and the Lead Quality Technician. You help with incoming inspections when needed, contribute to continuous improvement using PDCA, and ensure policies in the employee handbook are followed. Consistent attendance and reliability underpin everything you do—plus the flexibility to take on other duties as assigned.
