Grid Systems Consultant

Our client is seeking a Grid Systems Consultant to support the delivery of comprehensive grid modernization consulting services for electric utility clients. This role contributes to the successful execution of initiatives that enhance reliability, modernize operations, and integrate advanced grid technologies for a resilient, future-ready utility infrastructure.
The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clients through all phases of their transformation journey—from strategy and business case development to system integration, implementation, and post-deployment support.
Focus Areas
- Grid modernization strategy and execution
- SCADA, OMS, ADMS, DERMS implementation and support
- Requirements gathering, RFP development, and vendor selection
- Project coordination, testing, and deployment
- Post-deployment operational support and training
Key Responsibilities
Support delivery and implementation of SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS solutionsAssist with commissioning, testing, and deployment of grid systemsProvide field support and troubleshooting for advanced applications (e.g., FLISR, VVO, DER integration)Participate in requirements gathering, data analysis, and business process documentationContribute to project planning, budgeting, and milestone trackingSupport design, build, configuration, testing, and defect triage activitiesAssist with project management tasks using Agile or Waterfall methodologiesPrepare technical documentation, client presentations, and quality deliverablesFacilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessionsSupport change management and business process designAssist with software selection, RFP development, and vendor evaluationEnsure compliance with safety protocols and site policiesProvide post-deployment support, including training and documentation updatesQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field8+ years of relevant experience, including :8+ years of Oracle Utilities Network Management System (NMS) OMS experience
Experience with OMS, DMS, ADMS, AMI, Distribution Automation, and DER integrationStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience with leading-edge operational technologies and industry-standard toolsFamiliarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologiesAbility to lead or influence project execution and collaborate effectively with clients and teamsAdditional Info
