Business Operations Supervisor
Sarasota County is seeking a Business Operations Supervisor for our Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources department. In this role, you will provide professional leadership and operational oversight to the Central Processing team responsible for park-related business systems, financial transactions, and customer service. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and customer-focused delivery of services while maintaining compliance and supporting continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include :
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Central Processing staff to ensure effective service delivery.
- Oversee reservations, registrations, point-of-sale transactions, and account reconciliations totaling over $4M annually.
- Manage cash handling, deposits, refunds, and financial reporting in compliance with county policies.
- Ensure exceptional customer service, resolve escalated inquiries, and maintain accurate records.
- Serve as system "Super User" for RecTrac, CCURE, and MUSCO / Skylogix; troubleshoot and coordinate with IT and vendors.
- Analyze operations, identify process improvements, and implement efficiency strategies.
- Collaborate across divisions and with community partners to support events, programs, and facility use.
- Maintain data integrity, uphold policy compliance, and champion best business practices.
Work Schedule : Monday Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. 5 : 00 p.m.
Minimum qualifications include :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Parks and Recreation, or a job-related field -AND- two (2) years of job-related experience.OR- Six (6) years of professional job-related experience can be substituted for the required education.OR- Related professional program / project management may substitute for the required education.Preferred qualifications include :
Previous parks and recreation system administration experience.Previous supervisor / management experience.Certified or ability to obtain certification as a "Certified Parks and Recreation Professional" through the National Parks and Recreation Association.Starting pay : $56,139.20.
