This role is 100% onsite and offers competitive compensation & benefits.

The role of the Director of Engineering encompasses various responsibilities and objectives within the firm's portfolio of real estate and property management.

Requires a Professional Engineer (PE) License

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the company, this role must provide regular updates and reports on the status of engineering projects, budgets, and other related matters.

Responsibilities include :

Engineering Operations Management : The Director of Engineering is responsible for managing and overseeing all engineering operations.

This includes both existing assets and new development projects, which may be part of the company's portfolio. This role requires working closely with related professionals, such as Property Managers, Senior Chief Engineers, the Director of Security, and the Controller.

The goal is to ensure that the engineering aspects of the firm's properties run efficiently and effectively.

Collaboration : The Director of Engineering is expected to work closely with peers (other team members in the engineering department) and their supervisor to ensure smooth operations and successful project execution.

Effective teamwork and communication are essential.

Team Leadership : In addition to managerial responsibilities, the Director of Engineering is responsible for leading a team of engineers.

This team could be working on a range of tasks, from maintaining existing assets to contributing to the development of new projects.

Leadership skills are vital for guiding and motivating the engineering team to achieve the company's goals.

Development Projects : The Director of Engineering is actively involved in the development projects of the firm. This involvement may encompass project planning, execution, and oversight.

It implies a strategic role in shaping the company's future through its development projects.

Requirements :

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in all systems within a commercial building (Building management for CRE spaces, heater / cooling towers, HVAC, plumbing, power, fire, security, etc.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible structural and building engineering experience required in a first-class commercial office environment.
  • PE License is required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national / local codes and regulations required.
  • Travel between buildings is required.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 Per Year
