Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • The successful EIR Scientist candidate will work with experienced professional consultants in performing environmental assessment and remediation projects related to petroleum and hazardous waste sites.
  • Candidates must be willing to work both as part of a team and independently in the office as well as in the field on small and large projects.

  • Performance of site investigations to support environmental projects, including the interpretation of environmental data and report writing.
  • Management / analyses of soil / groundwater data, including summary tables, results interpretation, and mapping.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

  • BS in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • 3-5 years of related environmental consulting experience.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and time management skills.
  • Preferred 40-Hour Hazwoper.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments.
  • Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Implement Atlas' safety policies and procedures (commitment to safety).

Technical Requirements :

  • Ability to document field activities in detail (notebook and / or camera).
  • Basic understanding of soil / groundwater sampling requirements (various methodologies, containers, laboratory requirements, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of Phase I / II Environmental Site Assessment requirements.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas, if needed (wetlands, industrial hygiene, etc.)

Other miscellaneous qualities :

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time when in the field (50% office, 50% field).
  • Microsoft PC applications, Word, Excel
