About the Role
We have a mission to change the way people think about access vs. ownership. Your primary objective as an Industrial and Logistics Engineer is to enable the flawless execution of logistics and inventory services by designing, creating, and innovating physical operations infrastructure.
This position is responsible for the design and implementation of operational tools, warehouse layouts, and physical workflows processes that allow to deliver on its promise to customers.
The Industrial and Logistics Engineer will play a critical role in establishing infrastructure for new market launches. This role reports directly to the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities and expectations include :
Optimize storage of commonly handled items to ensure that they are densely stored, while being protected from damage
Work closely with the operations and leadership team on facilities supporting new market launches
- Optimize vehicle interior designs to allow for better handling of customer items, maximize capacity, and allow for ease of loading
- Select and deploy storage and material handling equipment
- Develop and implement innovative storage solutions for customer goods
- Create maintain accurate layouts of warehouses
- Develop detailed project plans and be accountable for meeting timelines
- Work with product and engineering teams to define physical and virtual process flows
- Ensure that warehouse designs and processes meet applicable regulatory and safety standards.

Success Metrics :
- Complete design and deployment of two new facilities by Q3 2018
- Review facility regulatory compliance by Q3 2018
- Complete specification for vehicle interiors by Q3 2018
- Align facility designs to reduce storage and retrieval costs to achieve operational profitability in all warehouses by the end of 2018
Job Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Packaging Engineering or equivalent
- 4+ years experience working in manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics
- Familiarity industry standard CAD or Layout software
- Working knowledge of lean principles and industry best practices
- Able to thrive in dynamic and ambiguous growth environments
- Familiarity with OSHA Standards (OSHA 10 Hour Training or better a plus)
- Ability to travel to sites outside of the SF Bay Area as needed
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Possess a valid drivers licence
- Written and verbal command of English.
Compensation $80K $100K and higher (DOE)
