Lincoln Surgical Hospital and Nebraska Surgery Center are thriving organizations looking for an accounting or finance professional to join our team as a Director of Finance.

In this position you would be responsible for directing and supervising the financial accounting and reporting functions, preparation of financial statements, comparative analysis of financial reporting, preparation of budgets and maintaining the general ledger for both organizations.

You would be involved in strategic and operational projects and work closely with the executive, service line and director leadership teams providing information to support and improve operations.

Hours : Full time, Monday - Friday

Job duties include but are not limited to :

  • Managing the collection of data to accurately report and make decisions regarding financial information. Accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements, reporting and analysis.
  • Produce operational statistical reports for effective decision-making and strategy including analysis, trending and comparative data.
  • Perform routine business analysis on a monthly basis to enhance the integrity of the organizations financial statements.
  • Responsible for coordinating across departments demonstrating working knowledge of general accounting, revenue cycle, payroll, accounts payable and month-end close processes.
  • Prepare accrual to cash analysis.
  • Reconciliation of monthly bank statements, recording of transfers and miscellaneous transactions in bank activity report.
  • Responsible for recognizing the need for allocation of intercompany receivable / payable accounts and the accuracy of making the appropriate allocation.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of monthly accruals reflected in the financial statements.
  • Manage the collection of information for the preparation of the Medicare cost report prepared by an outside firm. Answer and manage regulation questions regarding the cost report.
  • Direct the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Responsible for analysis and pro-forma creation to ensure sound business decisions.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to the executive team and governing board by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Supervise Finance department staff including assigning work, monitoring staff performance and providing timely feedback through orientation, ongoing training, coaching and annual performance evaluations.
  • Keep informed of current issues, new procedures, developments and innovation. Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures, identify appropriate internal controls and provide mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
