Responsibilities

  • Majority of the time spent using independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product & department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, and handling partner-related matters.
  • Responsible for multiple departments, including merchandising, product mix, product costs, and supervising partners via department managers.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
  • Supervises daily management of non-perishable, perishable, and food service departments and merchandising via department managers.
  • Maintains vendor relations and communicates Central Market expectations.
  • Conducts employment interviews, performance appraisals, and partner feedback.
  • Trains and develops partners.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong supervisory and management skills for production and sales across non-perishable, perishable, and food service departments.
  • Long-term strategic and financial planning skills.
  • Bachelor's degree and one to two years of related experience, training, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficiency with automated reporting systems : inventory, food cost, scheduling, time & attendance, labor (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to champion new ideas and initiatives.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations, analyze data, and plan organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, delegate effectively, and develop teams.
