Job Description : Director, Leadership Development
The Director of Leadership Development plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing leadership development initiatives within the organization.
Reporting directly to the Vice President Learning & Development, the Director of Leadership Development collaborates with senior leadership to cultivate a pipeline of effective leaders who can drive the company’s success.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategic Leadership Development Planning :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive leadership development strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Identify key leadership competencies and skills necessary for success within the organization.
2. Program Design and Implementation :
- Design and deliver leadership development programs, workshops, and initiatives tailored to various levels of leadership within the organization.
- Utilize a variety of learning methodologies, including classroom training, e-learning, coaching, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with external vendors or subject matter experts as needed to enhance leadership development offerings.
3. Talent Assessment and Development :
- Design and deliver development programs for identified high-potential employees and future leaders.
- Provide individualized coaching and development plans for emerging leaders and high-potential talent.
- Monitor progress and track the effectiveness of leadership development efforts through measurable outcomes and metrics.
4. Leadership Coaching and Mentoring :
- Offer one-on-one coaching and mentoring to senior executives, mid-level managers, and other leaders to enhance their leadership capabilities.
- Provide guidance on leadership best practices, communication strategies, conflict resolution, and change management.
5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement :
- Collaborate with HR business partners, talent acquisition teams, and talent management to identify leadership development needs and opportunities.
- Partner with external organizations, universities, or professional associations to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in leadership development.
6. Leadership Development Culture Promotion :
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and leadership development throughout the organization.
- Promote awareness and participation in leadership development programs and initiatives across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8-10 years) in leadership development, talent management, or organizational development roles.
- Strong understanding of leadership theory, adult learning principles, and best practices in leadership development.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or other training platforms.
- This role base pay based on experience, $140-$160 plus corporate bonus plan and day one healthcare and 401k match*
