Overview
The FEMA Cultural Resources Specialist :
- Provides technical expertise to ensure compliance with Federal historic preservation laws and regulations. Conduct reviews in accordance with 36 CFR Part 800—Protection of Historic Properties, Section 106 Review Process.
- Conducts record searches and surveys to help identify cultural resources and areas of concern. Reviews project descriptions, drawings, maps, and photographs to assess the potential of the project to impact cultural resources.
- Produces cultural resource documents presenting research and analysis results.
- Provides status updates.
- Communicate and coordinate with staff within FEMA as well as local, state, tribal and / or territorial governments.
- Performs other tasks associated with ensuring projects comply with Federal historic preservation laws and regulations.
- May coordinate and complete basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage to assist in the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process.
