Ecovyst is on the hunt for an Environmental Engineer to be based at our Martinez, California pla nt. This position will provide direct compliance support to the Martinez, CA and remote support to our Portland, OR plant while supporting broader corporate level environmental and sustainability initiatives.

  • nts. The base salary range for this position as described in the job description criteria is $100,000 to $160,000 annua
  • lly.Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position.

Responsibili

ties : Communicate effectively and work in a collaborative fashion with all functions of the business, operations, and maintenance functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support business growth / initiatives.

Be visible, conduct field and site inspections to enforce adherence to laws, regulations and employer policies governing environmental compliance and responsible operating pract

  • ices. Work with site leadership to ensure sustainable systems are implemented / maintained for compliance with local, state and federal regulat
  • ions.Serve as facility liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and regulatory negotiat
  • ions. Monitor regulatory developments and collaborate with site / HSE team members to develop / implement solutions when ne
  • eded.Be visible and promote continuous HSE improvement by participation in site meetings, incident investigations, training, and compliance audi
  • ting. Assist as needed in investigation of incidents and non-compliance events to determine contributing factors and recommend remedial action to prevent reoccurrence.

Require

  • ments : BS in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related
  • field.Environmental experience in a manufacturing environment pref
  • erred.Experience with Title V air permi
  • tting.Strong experience with CA Environmental
  • laws. Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Must be proficient in serving as a change agent within the manufacturing environment and working with site management and Health and Safety team members to improve overall HSE perfor
  • mance. Knowledge of relevant regulations, with emphasis on relevant state and federal environmental regulations specific to Ecoservices’ manufacturing operations pref
  • erred.Must be an independent, self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and administer a broad range of duties including : providing timely resolution to issues that arise;

counseling / coaching operations personnel; and providing technical interpretation of policies and proce

  • dures.Ability to perform physical inspections of manufacturing areas, warehouses, utility spaces, wastewater and waste management areas, and construction
  • sites.Ability to proactively address complex regulatory issues and work with site personnel to implement sustainable solu
