Neighborhood Health International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Mobile Unit

Non-Exempt, 40 Hours

Neighborhood Health is looking to add an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Mobile Unit to our team.

As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Mobile Unit, you will :

  • Provide evidenced based information regarding use, during breastfeeding and human lactation of medications (over the counter and prescription) alcohol, tobacco, and additive drugs, and herbs or supplements and their potential impact on milk production and child safety.
  • Works in conjunction with local agency staff to promote breastfeeding.
  • Travel to specified counties and work in conjunction with local agency staff and serve as a local agency Designated Breastfeeding Expert (DBE), to field referrals that are out of scope for Peer Counselors and CPA staff.
  • Monitoring educational materials being used on the mobile unit to ensure only ISDH approved items are being used and assist in distributing / transporting to each clinic of these approved materials.
  • Assist Senior Director of WIC in evaluation of breastfeeding reports in INWIC and strategize, develop and implement plans for improvement within breastfeeding department.

Requirements :

  • IBCLC required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A minimum of one year of teaching experience in maternal and child health or public health settings preferred

Education Requirements :

Graduate of an accredited associate degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Nutrition Sciences, Public Health Nutrition, Or Clinical Nutrition or Nursing.
