About Us

We are building a next-generation virtual obesity medicine clinic that integrates three proven components into one patient experience : physician-prescribed GLP-1 medications, virtual dietitian coaching, and medically tailored meals. We believe that effective obesity management is a critical, underutilized tool for preserving kidney function and improving outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). This venture is being launched out of the venture studio of Healthcare Shares, an early-stage healthcare venture capital firm.

The Opportunity : Pioneering Obesity Care as a Renal-Protective Strategy

We are seeking an innovative Nephrologist to join our Board of Advisors to help pioneer the use of integrated obesity management as a primary strategy for kidney preservation. With the growing understanding of the cardiorenal metabolic syndrome and the proven renal benefits of new therapeutic classes like GLP-1s, there is an unprecedented opportunity to change the trajectory of CKD for millions of patients. Your role will be to provide the deep clinical expertise needed to tailor our program for patients with renal disease, design protocols to measure renal outcomes, and help us build the definitive case for payers that our model reduces the total cost of care for this high-risk population.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on clinical protocols for managing obesity in patients with varying stages of chronic kidney disease, including medication selection (e.g., GLP-1s) and nutritional considerations.
• Advise on the development of our data and analytics strategy to track key renal outcomes, such as eGFR slope, UACR, and progression to ESRD.
• Help quantify and articulate the "renal value proposition" of our integrated care model for payers, health systems, and nephrology provider groups.
• Guide our strategy for potential partnerships with nephrology practices, dialysis organizations, and kidney care management companies.
• Participate in quarterly virtual advisory board meetings, contributing to the overall clinical and commercial strategy of the company.
