Position Summary : Mount Mary University is seeking an individual to join our community and contribute to the realization of our Mission through the role of Assistant Professor in Counseling.

This nine-month position is comprised of 100% teaching load in counseling courses or other courses consistent with practice experience.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Teach graduate counseling courses
  • Advise and supervise masters level students.
  • Contribute to continuous and systematic program assessment
  • Maintain compliance and ensure program quality with CACREP accreditation standards
  • Complete annual data collection and dissemination of CACREP competency benchmarks
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned
  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as delineated in the Faculty Handbook.

Skills and Experience :

  • Doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited program in Counselor Education and Supervision.
  • Teaching and supervision experience required
  • Holds or is eligible for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LPC-IT) or School Counseling credential
  • Evidence of appropriate licenses and / or certification
  • Ability to teach two or more of the eight CACREP core areas preferred
  • Experience in school counseling preferred
  • Demonstration of professional involvement
  • Evidence of scholarly publications and related scholarly work preferred
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional code of ethics and best practices
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to work with diverse groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groups
